Kalispell, nestled in a valley in northwest Montana, is the commercial, professional, and governmental hub of the Flathead Valley. The gateway to Glacier National Park, it is seven miles north of Flathead Lake, the largest natural freshwater lake west of the Mississippi. The Flathead Valley boasts six of the state’s finest public golf courses. The city is located in close proximity to the major ski destination of Whitefish Mountain Resort as well as the smaller but family-friendly ski area known as Blacktail Mountain. Nearby Flathead National Forest, 2.3 million acres of public land, is known for a variety of wildlife and scenic vistas. Kalispell Regional Medical Center is the area’s largest employer.
