John H. Maynard is a Partner in the Litigation Department in the firm’s Helena office. Mr. Maynard has been a trial attorney since 1979. His principal area of practice is insurance defense, including medical malpractice, healthcare litigation, product liability, governmental, constitutional and tort law. Mr. Maynard is a former law clerk for the Montana Supreme Court and a former Assistant Attorney General for the State of Montana. He is also the former administrator of the tort claims division and chief defense counsel for the State of Montana. He has been private practice since 1990. Mr. Maynard earned a law degree from the University of Montana School of Law and is a graduate of several advanced programs sponsored by the National Institute of Trial Advocacy. He is admitted to practice in state and federal courts in Montana, the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit and the United States Supreme Court.
