Brittney Mada serves as Pro Bono Counsel. Her role is twofold: development and advocacy. She enhances the firm’s pro bono program as a key member of the Pro Bono Practice Group. In this capacity, she actively promotes and facilitates pro bono participation across the firm while also managing relationships with legal aid providers and partner organizations. Additionally, Brittney represents pro bono clients by holding space for those who are denied access, face significant capacity limitations, or are otherwise restricted from meaningful involvement in legal processes. For more than five years she has advocated for her clients’ legal interests, providing crucial support and ensuring they are effectively represented.

The cases Brittney handles cover a wide range of civil legal issues, often stemming from resource scarcity and interpersonal conflicts, such as property disputes, dissolutions, parenting plans, orders of protection, and immigration issues. Brittney views herself as a bridge between individuals hindered by systemic barriers and their access to the legal system, feeling a profound responsibility for restoring trust in the process.

Brittney previously served as a Crime Victim Attorney with Montana Legal Services Association, a role that allowed her to connect with individuals experiencing violence and cultivated her desire to continue pro bono work in her home state and beyond. She finds immense joy in the unpredictable and surprising nature of her work. Her cases often arise from challenging situations, but she finds witnessing how individuals maintain their humanity and resilience throughout these processes is endlessly remarkable.

Brittney serves as an Executive Committee Board Member for CASA of Yellowstone County. Throughout her legal career she has maintained strong connections with philanthropic organizations and held several positions, including being a CASA through CASA of Missoula and a volunteer with the Community Dispute Resolution Center of Missoula. Her experience also includes work with SAFE Harbor in Lake County, Big Brothers Big Sisters of Gallatin County, and VISIONS Service Adventures in Bozeman.

Outside of her practice, Brittney enjoys modifying her clothing and owns a photography business, both of which serve as creative outlets. She and her husband enjoy gardening, cooking, hiking with their animals and staying active.
