Julie A. Lichte is Senior Counsel in the Bozeman office and a member of the Health Law Practice Group. Julie represents physicians, hospitals, and health care providers in a myriad of matters, including medical malpractice, professional licensing disputes, and credentialing matters.
As a former registered nurse, Julie enjoys collaborating with healthcare providers and delving into the medical details of each case. She regularly consults with experts across various medical specialties, leveraging her background to bridge the gap between medicine and law. When doctors seek her counsel, they often worry that their attorney might not grasp the pressures of working in a hospital setting. However, Julie’s medical experience allows her to offer not only expert legal advice but also a compassionate, empathetic understanding of their unique challenges.
Julie has appeared on hundreds of occasions before the Montana Medical Legal Panel and has tried several medical malpractice cases to verdict. She has defended health care providers in cases involving alleged birth trauma injuries, cancer misdiagnosis, surgical related incidents, obstetrics, gynecologic matters, radiological related incidents, and various other medical specialties such as pediatrics, infectious disease, neurology, and orthopedics.
Before joining the firm, she was a partner with Quinn, Johnston, Henderson & Pretorius in Peoria, Illinois, and worked as a registered nurse in hospital and clinic settings.
In her free time, Julie enjoys downhill and cross-country skiing, hiking, golfing, and traveling.
