Madeline Murphy is an Associate in the Helena office and a member of the Health Law Practice Group, where her practice focuses on medical malpractice defense. She represents hospitals, physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals in matters ranging from claims before the Montana Medical Legal Panel to active lawsuits filed in district court. She also works closely with insurance carriers and providers at the outset of a claim, guiding clients through the difficult process of responding to allegations of negligence and defending their care.
Madeline understands that these cases are deeply personal. The professionals she represents have dedicated their lives to helping others, and facing a malpractice claim can be devastating, impacting not only their careers but also their reputations and sense of purpose. She takes pride in helping tell her clients’ stories and ensuring their perspectives are fully and fairly represented. Whether a client is navigating stress about financial implications, licensure, or public perception, Madeline provides steady, thoughtful counsel throughout the process.
Madeline received her JD from Gonzaga University School of Law. While in law school, Madeline was an Associate Editor of Gonzaga’s Law Review and was an active member of the Moot Court Honors Council and teams. She also served as President of the Women’s Law Caucus during her third year.
Before joining the firm, Madeline worked at a boutique law firm in Seattle, Washington, that focused exclusively on medical negligence and healthcare defense. She also gained experience during law school as a legal extern with the King County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office in Seattle.
Outside the office, Madeline enjoys spending time with her husband and young daughter. Together, they love exploring all Montana has to offer.
