Dalton Hafner is an Associate in the Billings office. He focuses his practice on creditors’ rights, bankruptcy, and banking and finance matters. He hopes to later expand his area of practice into succession and estate planning for Montana’s small businesses, farms, and ranches. Dalton is particularly drawn to serving clients in communities across the state, bringing a practical and approachable perspective to complex financial and legal challenges.

A Montana native from Wolf Point, Dalton has lived in the state for more than 27 years and values staying connected to the people and traditions of eastern Montana. He strives to practice law with humility and service at the forefront, ensuring that his role as an attorney never overshadows his commitment to helping clients. Dalton previously worked with Montana Legal Services, where he gained experience assisting individuals with intake and support in civil legal matters.

Dalton earned respect from his community by pairing discipline and efficiency with a strong command of language and communication—skills that allow him to organize complex issues clearly and effectively for clients. He views law not as a platform for self-importance, but as an opportunity to deliver meaningful service to those who rely on him.

Outside of work, Dalton enjoys Montana’s outdoors through hiking, snowboarding, and running. He is also an avid chess player, music enthusiast, and moviegoer. At home, Dalton values time with his wife and young son, their dog, and their extended family, who all live in Montana.
