Kristen Hansen is Senior Counsel in the Bismarck Office, where she practices with the Oil and Gas Practice Group. Kristen has specialized in oil and gas title work for over a decade. She works closely with her clients, typically operators, to review real estate and mineral ownership documentation and ensure that all parties are being properly paid for their land and resources. Kristen has a substantial renewable energy practice where she works with project developers to negotiate lease terms, gain land control, and secure financing so they can get their projects off the ground. Additionally, she also assists clients with trusts and estates matters, such as probate and will drafting, helping them maintain their personal legacy.
Kristen is always sure to inform her clients of all potential risks while giving them the space to make their own decisions. She enjoys conducting in-depth research and compiling the complex reports that come with this area of the law.
Kristen graduated with distinction from the University of North Dakota School of Law, where she was an editor of the North Dakota Law Review and a member of the Order of the Coif. She also obtained an LL.M. in Environmental and Natural Resource Law from the University of Denver Sturm College of Law.
