Gillian P. Ellison is an Associate in Crowley Fleck’s Energy and Environmental and Commercial Litigation Practice Groups. A fifth-generation Montanan born on the Hi-Line, Gillian’s family homesteaded in Montana in the 1800s. That connection to the state has shaped her interest in the legal and business issues affecting Montana’s natural resources, industries, and communities.
Gillian enjoys tackling complex legal issues and helping clients navigate challenging disputes and regulatory matters. She values diligence, responsiveness, and keeping clients’ objectives at the center of her work.
While attending the University of Montana Alexander Blewett III School of Law, Gillian served as Editor-in-Chief of the Public Land and Resources Law Review and completed a judicial internship with the Hon. Dana L. Christensen of the U.S. District Court for the District of Montana.
Although she spent much of her childhood in Seattle, Gillian returned frequently to Montana to visit family and spent many summers working on vegetable farms around Missoula. After earning her undergraduate degree from the University of Nevada, Las Vegas, she returned to Montana for law school and now lives in Missoula with her fiancé and their dogs. She is inspired by her parents, who were raised in Montana, met as high school sweethearts, and demonstrated the value of hard work and resilience through their lives and careers.
Outside the office, Gillian is an avid rock climber and hopes to keep climbing for decades to come.
