Jeana R. Lervick is a seasoned litigator who specializes in counseling and defense through every step of conflict prevention and resolution.  Jeana specializes in employment and health care law, from day-to-day operations to large-scale litigation.  Jeana additionally has extensive experience in intellectual property, including both trademarks and patents, as well as local and state government.

Jeana is a Montana native and received her B.S. from the Honors Program at Montana State University. After earning her J.D. from DePaul University College of Law, she practiced as a litigator specializing in patents and trademarks in Chicago for more than a decade. Jeana returned to Montana to raise her family and became In-house Counsel for a Montana school district before serving as Chief of the Civil Department of Montana’s largest county. 

Jeana joined Crowley Fleck in early 2023 and loves working with the team to help resolve conflicts.  Her extensive real-world experiences have served her in counseling and defending clients large and small.  Jeana handles all aspects of employment management and defense, including contract negotiation and drafting, as well as appearing regularly in administrative proceedings before the Montana Human Rights Bureau.  She is licensed in Illinois and Montana and is registered before a wide array of appellate and administrative courts and bodies across the U.S. 

Jeana regularly shares her litigation, trial, and employment law expertise. She is a frequent speaker for both NBI, Inc. and HalfMoon Education, Inc., an organization dedicated to providing continuing education for professionals in a variety of fields.  

Jeana is an active member of her community. She sits on various boards and associations for the community, and frequently dedicates her time and skills to local non-profit groups. 

Outside of work, Jeana is a coach and team mom for numerous youth athletic programs and can often be found cheering on her son with their Bernese Mountain Dog, Rosie and rescue pup, Bandit.

  • ACLU v. Reed Point School District: Represented Reed Point School District in a case brought by the ACLU, where the District and its employees faced allegations of racial discrimination at a high school basketball game. Plaintiffs claimed the school’s Athletic Director had made a discriminatory comment, which she denied. Her assertion was corroborated by a nearby witness. The judge ultimately ruled in favor of the District, finding no evidence of discrimination.
  • Miles City School District Sexual Abuse Case: Served as litigation counsel for the Miles City School District in a high-profile case involving historical abuse allegations. A volunteer athletic trainer, not employed by the district, had admitted to abuse during the 1990s. Although the district was unaware of his actions, it faced allegations of negligence decades later. Successfully argued for summary judgment on multiple claims, significantly reducing the scope of the case.
  • Intellectual Property Violation Case: Acted as local counsel in a nationwide intellectual property dispute involving trademark, copyright, and trade secret claims. Secured a temporary restraining order that facilitated the negotiation of a permanent order, effectively protecting the client’s IP interests across multiple jurisdictions.
